Converting an Alterna or Gas Log set from one gas type to another can be challenging, especially when manufacturer restrictions are in place. Rasmussen provides a specialized Factory Conversion Program to help customers safely modify their gas log sets while maintaining product certification and performance standards.

Conversion Process Overview

The Rasmussen Factory Conversion Program involves comprehensive equipment modifications, including:

  1. Replacing burner orifice
  2. Updating ODS or pilot
  3. Replacing gas regulator or valve
  4. Modifying aluminum tubing as needed
  5. Cleaning burner and grate
  6. Updating rating plate documentation
  7. Performing quality control testing

Important: Field conversions are not permitted. Only factory-authorized modifications are acceptable.

Getting a Conversion Quote

To receive a conversion cost estimate, customers must email the following to Info@Rasmussen.biz :

  • Complete model number
  • Serial number (located on metal ID plate)
  • Comprehensive photos showing control valve and burners

 

Conversion Turnaround

Rasmussen guarantees a swift three-day turnaround, with the converted gas log set returned via UPS at no additional shipping cost to the customer.

 

PLEASE NOTE:

To avoid damage when returning the burner/controls to us for conversion, triple-wrap the burner and components in bubble-wrap and package in a sturdy carton, filling the voids with paper to keep the contents from jostling. Receiving items with damage will result in higher costs, or the need for complete replacement.
