Please refer to the photos of the log sets on our website at www.RasmussenGasLogs.com for log stacking ideas. For vented sets, there is latitude in the placement of the logs, following these guidelines:
For "Traditional" Vented Log sets (solid front log)
- The longest log is the front log.
- The next longest log is the rear log, which sits on top of the log lifter blocks for burners that use a grate. Each log lifter blocks should be placed across two of the grate bars.
- The top logs can be placed across the top of the front/rear logs in a manner that is pleasing to you. The top logs should not be placed in between the front and rear logs, or placed too tightly such that there is not a free path for the flame to flow upward.
For "Evening" Vented Log sets (two piece front logs with charred effects - may also include a charred chunk)
- The longest log is the rear log, which sits on top of the log lifter blocks for burners that use a grate. Each log lifter blocks should be placed across two of the grate bars.
- The next two longest logs make the front log and consist of right and left piece. Place these logs at the front of the grate so that the charred portions are near to each other in the middle of the grate.
- If you are using a charred chunk, place it between the two front log pieces.
- The top logs can be placed across the top of the front/rear logs in a manner that is pleasing to you. The top logs should not be placed in between the front and rear logs, or placed too tightly such that there is not a free path for the flame to flow upward.
