Solaire Grilling Grids are made from Type 304 stainless steel, which has properties that make it resistant to salt water corrosion. Oxidation (rusting) of the Stainless Steel grilling grids occurs due to the high heat to which they are exposed. Rusting can also be caused by minute steel particles that adhere to the surface from the use of a carbon steel bristle brush. Oxidation does not affect their performance and by itself is not a warrantable condition. What is warrantable is when the grids degrade to where there are holes and thus a breakdown of their structural integrity. Should this ever occur, please send photos of this condition and we will replace under our warranty, the only charge being for shipping/handling.
We recommend brushing the grids during the heat up before you grill and also during the burn off after you grill. You should use a SS or brass bristle brush.
Not Warrantable - merely discoloration from heat.
Warrantable - material is eaten away and grids are split.
