What should I do if the valve motor drive appears stuck?

On some Rasmussen motorized-valve remote systems, troubleshooting can start with these steps:
- Replace the four AA receiver batteries.
- If the motor operates but the valve does not respond, the valve plunger may be sticking.
- The motor drive can be removed at the wrench flats, the plunger tip wiped clean, and the motor drive reinstalled.
- Do not overtighten when reinstalling: fingertip-tight plus a slight snug with a wrench is recommended.
- If the problem remains, the motor drive and/or receiver may require replacement.
This procedure is specific to certain Rasmussen motorized-valve systems and should not be applied to other valves. If you are not sure which valve you have, contact Rasmussen at info@rasmussen.biz with photos of your control system before removing any components.
