This applies to EASY Controls (RPK3E, RMC1E, SE, and RE) and Millivolt Controls (RPK1, RPK3, S).
The likely cause is that after lighting the pilot, you did not turn the knob to the ON position from the PILOT position. After lighting the pilot with the knob in the PILOT position, you must turn the knob to ON in order for gas to flow through the valve to the burner.
EASY Controls (RPK3E (shown), RMC1E, SE, and RE):

Millivolt Controls (RPK1, S):

Millivolt Controls (RPK3, S):

Why does the pilot stay lit but the main burner will not turn on in my millivolt system?
The thermopile must be heated sufficiently before it can operate the main valve.
- Approximately 30–45 seconds of pilot heating may be needed before the thermopile has enough energy to hold the pilot safety magnet.
- Approximately 90 seconds may be needed before enough energy is available to operate the main burner valve.
- Light the pilot with the control switch in the OFF position so the thermopile is not under load while heating.
- After the pilot is established, rotate the gas-control knob to the ON position before attempting to operate the main burner.
If the pilot goes out as soon as the control knob is released, allow the pilot to heat the thermopile longer.
If the pilot remains lit but the main burner does not light, first confirm that sufficient warm-up time has elapsed and that the valve knob is in the ON position.
Why is the pilot lit but the remote will not turn on the burner?
Before assuming that the remote or valve has failed:
- Confirm that the gas-control valve knob is in the ON position.
- Replace or check the four AA batteries in the receiver/battery box.
- Do not assume a new battery is fully charged; each AA battery should measure approximately 1.5–1.6 volts at full power.
- If a replacement remote has been installed, resynchronize it with the receiver/module.
